Rebellion Developments made Zombie Army 4: Dead War a third-person shooter video game. It is a continuation of the 2015 game Zombie Army Trilogy, a spin-off of the Sniper Elite series.

Rebellion, a studio based in the UK, has been improving, tweaking, and refining its co-op offering through several releases for the PlayStation 4. Zombie Army Trilogy got things going, but it took three years for Strange Brigade to show that the developer was on to something special. But all of that hard work was for its most recent project. Although it has a few minor flaws, Zombie Army 4: Dead War is Rebellion's best game.
Zombie Army 4 is a third-person survival horror/action game where you have to kill hordes of zombies to get from Point A to Point B. There are eight characters to choose from, each with its strengths and weaknesses. For example, June is quick, but her melee attacks are weak, and Karl has a higher chance of getting a critical hit but heals less quickly. You can play the game online with up to four people, or you can play it locally with four switches and four copies of the game.
If you've played any of the team's other games, you'll know what to expect from one of its flagship franchises. It is a third-person shooter that knows and enjoys how silly it is. Zombie Hitler may have been put to rest in the depths of hell, but that hasn't stopped his army of zombies from returning to life and starting a new war around the world. What comes next is a tongue-in-cheek campaign that takes place worldwide and is almost as much fun to do alone as it is with a group of friends.
That is because so much of what ( Zombie Army 4 ) game asks of you is improved by working together and talking with other people than playing alone. It almost feels like you are missing out on something. It is OK to play without teammates, and this campaign is probably one of the most flexible, but it cannot replace friendship.
You will still be doing the same things whether you play alone or with other people. It is a typical co-op game where you must defend critical points on the map, lure zombies into Blood Fountains, and put a bullet through the head of every last zombie. The game's goal is to get from one safe room to the next. The levels are mostly linear, with tasks and side goals to complete along the way. Zombie Army 4 Dead War has 10 hours of fun missions. However, these missions in ( Zombie Army 4 ) are not significantly different.
However, the game's level design is where you will find many different things to do. During development, it is clear that Rebellion made it a point that every place the player goes should be very different from the others. Taking advantage of this fact, each environment has its personality, quirks, and things that set it apart from the others. It makes for a fantastic set of missions. You can be sure that each new set of levels will be very different from the last, whether it is a romantic boat ride along a French canal, an attack on a volcanic castle, or our personal favorite, a trip to the zoo. It is exciting and refreshing and keeps you on your toes no matter where you are.
This kind of praise does not go as far regarding the game's enemies, but Hitler's army still has more than enough unique members to keep you on your toes. In addition to the usual walkers, suiciders, and snipers, you will need to watch out for necromancers, which give the dead another chance to live, and Elite enemies, who are a real cause for concern. They have a huge health bar and weapons that can do damage. If you are not ready, they can quickly turn the tide of battle against you. Unfortunately, by the time you are about halfway through the game, you will have seen almost everything it offers. It makes the later levels feel more like a repeat than anything new. It never gets old or dull, but you will feel like you have won this nightmare of the living dead long before the credits roll. That is, except for a great ending.
However, you will never get tired of how good the game feels to play. The game controls are easy to use. Also the game is easy to navigate. It makes for a very smooth gameplay experience, which is made even better by the option to play ( Zombie Army 4 ) at 60 frames per second on PS4 Pro. It is a game you could play again a year later and pick up the controls in just a few minutes. It makes it a great game to play right now.
It is more important than you think because each time you play, your overall rank increases, your weapons improve, and you get more perks. At the start of a campaign, you can choose from four characters, each with its benefits. They are not essential—traps Shola's do more damage around her, and Jun moves around the battlefield faster—so you can choose whomever you want. The team's level and load-outs are shared, so if you want to try out a new character, you will not be left out in the cold. It is an excellent feature that encourages you to try out the many different characters.
A full-fledged Horde mode will keep you coming back even after you finish the campaign. Again, you can play this game alone or with friends. Zombie Army 4 has four maps with different levels of difficulty. Between waves, new areas open up, and ammo refill stations change places, so you have to find a new place to hold up. It is an excellent Horde mode because you can run away after the 12th wave or keep fighting until the end.
Also, Weekly Events will come and go, bringing new challenges that give XP and new cosmetic items. You will have to go through different campaign levels with rules and restrictions that change your loadout, the amount of ammo you have, and how certain perks work. Zombie Army 4 Dead War is not Destiny 2, but you and a group of friends could play it for weeks if you take advantage of everything it offers.
However, for that to happen, Rebellion needs to have gotten the technical details right. Moreover, it has, in an imposing way. During our time with the game, we did not find a single bug or glitch, and the frame rate stayed at a buttery smooth 60 in performance mode. If you want to improve the graphics instead, you can do that on PS4 Pro, but you will have a reliable experience no matter your choice.
Zombie Army 4 was an entertaining game to play. The campaign was enjoyable from start to finish, with a great ending. The extra levels from the DLC that comes with the game are just as exciting. Zombie Army 4 Dead War is a great game which you can play alone or with friends, and it does a great job of mixing horror and action. When the game comes out, you will waste much time in this world if the online works as well as the offline. With all the ways you can customise different characters, weapons, and skills, and with a lot more paid DLC, it is easy to see yourself sinking a lot of time and bullets into this never-ending zombie war.
Zombie Army 4: Dead War is one of the best PS4 games for playing with other people. It has a meaty campaign with many different levels, great controls, fun game mechanics, and a mode called "Horde" that pushes your skills to the limit. Rebellion has made a game with so much to see and do that it could take a group of players weeks to master everything it offers. It is the pinnacle of success for this type of game. Zombie Army 4 Dead War is a hilarious game that is as fun to play as it is cheeky.
