Hitman 3 Game Review

The most interesting thing about the Hitman games has never been killing your target so much as how you kill your target. Whether it's a personal kill or setting up an accident, there are many ways to approach each goal. This can feel freeing because you don't have to stick to a scripted ending.
Hitman 3 is the last part of a trilogy that started in 2016. In this third part, which was made by IO Interactive on its own, players go back to the world of assassinations as Agent 47 goes up against the agency he used to work for. It is a stealth action game where you go to different places around the world to kill your target in the way you think is best.
As you get closer to your goal without being seen, use your wits and critical thinking to move forward. To really enjoy this game, you need to be patient and willing to try different things.
Hitman 3 isn't that different from the games that came before it. Whenever. In fact, you could think of it more as an addition to the story than as a new part. Everything about the gameplay is the same as in the first two games in this trilogy. None of the core game mechanics have been changed.
Hitman 3 does add new places to explore, new targets to kill, and more of 47's story. Even though the story in Hitman 3 and the whole trilogy isn't the best or most interesting part, it does a good enough job of giving 47 a reason to go after powerful people. But if you haven't played the first two Hitman games in this trilogy, you probably aren't missing out on much since the game's gameplay is almost more important than the story.
Hitman 3's maps, like those of its two predecessors, definitely encourage you to look around and find new things. They are big mazes where it's easy to get lost and scary to make a mistake. You are encouraged to look in all the corners of each level, but if you make a mistake even once, it will set you back a long way.
Despite this, Hitman 3 isn't really that hard. Even on the Master level, it won't be too hard to kill your targets without losing the game. This doesn't mean that the game is easy, though. The real challenge is to get rid of your mark without anyone else noticing.
To do this, you'll have to spend a lot of time memorising, understanding, and learning not only your targets' but also the crowd's habits and ways of acting. This game is almost a metaphor for perfectionism since you're told to play every level again and try out different ways to kill your targets without making a sound.
Hitman has always been a breath of fresh air as a stealth action game that doesn't rely too much on guns or super-advanced gadgets. You can throw someone off a balcony or drown them in a toilet. Hitman 3 is no different, and it doesn't try to be. A lot of focus is put on coming up with creative ways to use the environment to lure, sabotage, and trap people.
When bullets do start to fly, however, the shooting can feel very stiff. Something doesn't feel right about shooting guns in this game. A trained killer's aiming just doesn't feel as smooth as it should.
The crowd is the biggest thing standing between you and your target. When you are in a public place, you can't kill someone quietly. And it is hard to even get close because of restricted areas. 90% of the work is just getting to the goal. But you don't have to if you feel like being creative. You have every right to set up an accident in public if you are smart enough. It can be a lot of fun to pull these off.
Like before, you get experience for a level by making progress and coming up with creative ways to kill your enemies. As it grows, you get more choices. For example, the next time you go back to the same level, you might find new entrances and tools you didn't have before.
But this can be a problem for people who want to play a game for a longer time. Hitman 3 can be played all the way through in one day, even on the hardest setting. Even though it has maps with many layers, you can only choose six. Each of these things can be done in just under an hour.
With assassination attempts in Hitman 3 being so varied, the PS5 doesn't have much to offer that stands out. One is how stable the performance is in 4K. You just get a smooth, steady 60 frames per second, and visual improvements like ray-tracing are there. When ray-tracing is turned on, this shows how the bar in the Berlin mission is lit up by neon glows.
Also on the list are adaptive triggers with DualSense. When you throw things like a wrench or a crowbar and press both L2 and R2, you can feel the tension. Adaptive triggers don't really work well in a game like Hitman because there aren't any specific parts of the game that would need them. It seems like it was put there just to have an adaptive trigger feature. Overall, the PS5 version doesn't have much to offer besides faster load times, ray-tracing, better performance, and triggers that can be changed. You might as well just get the digital edition, which gives you both the PS4 and PS5 versions, to get your money's worth.
Like Agent 47, Hitman 3 is for people who want to get better at what they do. To beat every level, you may need to learn a lot about the environment and how NPCs behave. Hitman 3 is a great choice if you're one of those people who wants to feel that way.
