Dragon Ball the Breaker Game Review

Check out these awesome new games Monster Sanctuary, Tinykin.

When you hear the word "Dragon Ball," what is the first thing that comes to mind? What are your thoughts on the possibility that Goku will be able to defeat Demon King Piccolo? What about that infamous moment when Goku became a Super Saiyan for the very first time?

What happened when Goku beat Cell? Between Dragon Ball and Dragon Ball Super, there are a lot of memorable moments in the Dragon Ball series. Now, Dragon Ball: The Breakers is trying to capture some of the franchise's spirit.

In Dragon Ball: The Breakers, seven players try to stay alive against one of the most famous bad guys from the show. These fights don't happen in the main Dragon Ball storyline. Instead, they happen in strange gaps in time and space. Players can choose to be either the survivor or the raider during these events.

When it comes to Dragon Ball: The Breakers, the game has two sides. Each player is given either the survivor or the raider role. Players can choose the role they want, but that doesn't mean they'll get it.

If you don't get the role you want, the player gets a priority marker. The highest priority we ever got was a 7. When a player loads into a match, they can choose how their character is equipped. There are only three maps in the game, but most of the matches are played on the Highland River map.

As the survivor, it's up to the player to find power keys that will let them open the Super Time Machine. Once all the keys are found, the machine will land, and it will be up to the survivors to either protect it or use a time machine to get away.

Players can also win by taking out the raider. Using the dragon balls to summon Shenron can give the player the power to defeat the raider.

On the Raiders' side, their job is to kill the survivors or break the Super Time Machine. Raiders can also use the dragon balls to live forever or get other advantages. Once the raider has reached a higher level, they can destroy part of the map.

Destroying a part of the map doesn't turn off the power key that was planted, but it can kill people who are in the way of the blast. If the Super Time Machine doesn't go off and most of the survivors don't get away, the raider wins.

In a way, you can only win if you have time or money. You can win based on skill, but people who put money into the game have a better chance of winning. Players can unlock different Z-Fighters with different skills and abilities by buying orbs from the Spirit Siphon machine (Gacha).

With these Z-fighters, you can find out how much damage a fighter does. Also, the best cosmetics are only available to people who pay for them. Unlike Call of Duty, the Dragon Tier of the Battle Pass does not have a pay-to-unlock system.

RNG can be your best friend or your worst enemy when it comes to the game as a whole. The fact that the game doesn't have voice chat can make it hard to play. A lot of the game's features are also not known to players because the tutorial is so short.

Some of these parts are important to understanding the game as a whole and can make a big difference in how the game is played. The game doesn't have cross-play, and at least on the Xbox, the wait time would be longer than expected.

Overall, the game is fun once you find a match, but it takes almost as long to find a match as it does to play it. There could be more Raiders, more maps, and a better way to learn how to play the game. The fact that the first episode is called the "prologue" suggests that there will be more story chapters or tutorials.

There are a lot of bugs in Dragon Ball: The Breakers. Most of the bugs we saw were on the side of the survivors, but there were also a few on the side of the raiders. On the raider side, there were two times when we got stuck in the animation while killing an enemy. The second bug happened when the Super Time Machine was destroyed. Even though the machine was broken, it still worked. Now, these things don't happen very often, but they are still pretty annoying.

On the survivor side, being stuck down after being revived was the most annoying bug we ran into. This bug has been seen more than once. The second bug was when items disappeared without changing a player's status. This bug happened less often, but it still happened more than once. When there is lag in the game, it is very hard to pick up items; you can't move; or the game will freeze.

Dragon Ball: The Breakers has had a few problems with players leaving the game when they join. Sometimes, a crash will cause a lobby to close. Sometimes the game's sound effects and background music won't play or will play slowly.

Graphics, controls, and sound effects Oh My!

The graphics engine for Dragon Ball: The Breakers is the same as for Dragon Ball Xenoverse. The game looks great in terms of level design, but there are a lot of bugs that can really ruin the experience. Most of the cosmetics are locked behind expensive currency or real money, which makes you not want to play around with the customization options. Once you have more than the basic outfits unlocked, character design can be fun.

As for how to play the game, most of the controls are pretty easy to figure out. The directional pad is where you access your skills, but some of them have long cooldowns. Since the transformation key is on the right bumper, it's easy to press it by accident when trying to talk to other players. The area where you can hit enemies feels a little small and should be changed.

In terms of music and sound effects, the "World Hub Song" sounds like elevator music and plays over and over again. In fact, there doesn't seem to be much music to choose from in the game. Character voice lines are locked behind in-game or real-world money, and they all sound like they were taken right from the show.

In fact, since there is no music or voice system, you can easily turn off the game's sound with few consequences. The worst thing that could happen is that you might not hear when you are being shot at, when the raider is close, or when a zone is being blown up. All of these can be fixed if you pay attention.

Dragon Ball: The Breakers is a $19.99 game that many gamers can enjoy. If you play it on the Xbox Series X, it feels like a 50/50 chance that you'll find a match in a reasonable amount of time.

Cross-play or a different way to find people to play with could help. As for the characters, the Gacha system and the lack of a tutorial hurt the overall gameplay experience at first, but they can be gotten over if you play for enough time.

For the price, the game can be a lot of fun to play with friends and other players, but it still needs some work. The game's lack of characters and maps really slows it down. In a year, Dragon Ball: The Breakers could be as good as games like Dead by Daylight, which are also asymmetric. The game isn't a must-have, but for the price, it would make a great gift for a holiday or birthday.
