Inertial Drift: Twilight Rivals Edition Game Review

Two years ago, a racing game that is unlike any other came out.
Its name is inertial drift, and the drift stick is its gift to the world. In Inertial Drift, which is very stylish and cool, you don't drift like you do in most other racing games. So, you don't have to set up your car carefully to get the back end out, and then you don't have to carefully feather the throttle. Here, it's all about using the drift stick well—specifically, the right analogue stick.
When we first looked at Inertial Drift in 2020, we said that it was "the very definition of a game that's easy to learn but hard to master." In some cars, you don't have to do anything to make them go sideways, but in others, it takes a lot more force. For example, you might need to let off the gas or even tap on the brakes to start a drift.
It's one of the things you have to do to really enjoy Inertial Drift, and it's even harder now that there's a Twilight Rivals Edition. Because of how each car drives, it can be thought of as having its own personality. To really understand and master each one, you need to get to know it and learn its quirks. So, when you quickly switch from one car to another, you might feel a little off.
Inertial Drift: Twilight Rivals Edition brings the distinct drifting experience to the PlayStation 5.There are the usual improvements, but the biggest draw is the Twilight Rivals DLC, which is now also available on other platforms. It gives the game a whole new single-player campaign, which is the best one yet.
Team Equinox has come to put you in your place after hearing about your skills. So they thought: You'll beat them in every race and make them rethink how they race. You might even make them nicer to each other in the process. To do that, though, you'll have to switch cars as you go from one event to the next. And some of the hardest courses in inertial drift are used for these events.
At the end of the Twilight Rivals story, you'll compete in about 20 new events, which, like the ones in the base game, range from one-on-one duels to time attacks. You can race against four opponents, and when you beat each one, you can use their car for the rest of the game. So, if you can do it, you can get four new cars. There are also four new tracks to go with the new cars.
The cars, which include the Terra R.A.I., Eurus Hyperia, King Bison, and XX82-133, are as strange as ever, making them good additions to your garage. And some of the tracks are among the most beautiful. We especially like getting sideways on the Serpentine Descent, which lives up to its name. If you already own Inertial Drift and like it, it goes without saying that you'll probably want to buy the Twilight Rivals DLC to make the game more fun.
But if you've never played Inertial Drift before, this new PS5 version might be the way to go. The graphics are about the same as when the game is played on a high-end PC, and there is support for a high frame rate for people with fancy new TVs. Loading times have also been cut down, but there's not much to say about DualSense support, which is disappointing.
Inertial Drift: Twilight Rivals Edition has the same problems as the original release, like not having many options for people who want to race online. However, those who liked it before are likely to like it even more now that it has a new campaign and a variety of cars and tracks. But this new PS5 version of Inertial Drift might be best for people who haven't played it before. A lot of changes have made it look and play better on console than ever before.
