Pokémon Scarlet and Violet Game Review

The video game had a lot of negative press leading up to the release of Pokemon Scarlet and Violet. The game received a significant amount of skepticism and criticism due to early reviews as well as leaked gameplay footage. Even though it received a large number of negative reviews, Pokemon Scarlet and Violet nonetheless managed to sell more copies in its first week than God of War Ragnarok did.
Even though there were a lot of bugs and strange glitches, many people wanted to see what the games had to offer. Also, those bugs were more funny than frustrating. How do Pokemon Scarlet and Violet compare to the other games in the series? In our review, let's find out!
In Pokemon Scarlet and Violet, you don't get your first Pokemon from a professor like in other Pokemon games. Instead, someone else gives you your first Pokemon. Instead, the Head Director of the UVA Academy brings the three starter Pokemon to your house and gives you some time to travel with them before you have to decide.
Once the player picks either Quaxley, Sprogatito, or Fuecoco as our starter Pokemon, Nemona, our opponent in the game, chooses a Pokemon that is weak to our starter. The game says that Nemona is already a Pokemon League Champion, but it also says that she wants to go on a new adventure with different Pokemon.
The trainer can go to UVA Academy after a quick battle. On the way, they will meet either Miradion or Koraidon, which are the game's cover Pokémon. You can't do anything with either of these legendary Pokemon at first, but when you get to the academy, you learn how to ride them. Players also learn how to use terraforming in battle with Pokemon. This part of the game doesn't give the player a single quest to follow. Instead, it lets them find their own way.
When the player leaves the academy, they can go left or right out of the city. Both paths will take trainers to the same places, and the levels of the Pokemon on each side will be the same. The story of the game gives players three different quests to complete instead of just one goal.
Trainers can focus on either Victory Road (gyms), Starfall Street (Team Star Base raids), or Path of Legends (fighting Titan Pokemon). In order to move on to the game's last quest, the player must have finished all three previous quests. The last quest takes the player to the Great Crater of Paldea, where Miradion and Koraidon come from.

Thoughts on the Story
Before Pokemon Scarlet and Violet, we didn't think much of the stories of the newer generations. The game trailers didn't tell us much about the story, so we had to play it to find out. In a way, this made the story as a whole feel better. No matter which path you choose—Victory Road, Starfall Street, or Path of Legends—you will find a story that will make you feel.
Gyms: Each gym has its own theme, and the player has to pass different tests to be able to fight the gym leader. No longer does the player have to fight through a bunch of gym trainers to get to the leader. Instead, the player might have to finish a maze, slide down a hill, play Simon Says, or even hide and seek.
There are a few of the typical gym gauntlets in the game, but they aren't very common. In fact, you don't have to fight trainers very often in the game. Trainers can choose which trainer battles they want to take part in outside of the main quests.
Each gym leader has his or her own personality and way of doing things. In the past, some gym leaders seemed boring and like they were just there to fill space. In Pokemon Scarlet and Pokemon Violet, the gym leaders have personalities that are both real and bigger than life.
Pokemon Team Star Violet
Starfall
The player's job in the Starfall Street quest line is to kill the different Team Star Leaders. At first, players don't really know why they have to do it, other than the fact that the group has gotten out of hand.
As the story goes on, a much sadder story comes out. Adult players can easily figure out what's going on, but younger players might not fully understand unless they've been in a similar situation themselves. Yes, the story's plot is pretty predictable, but it still makes you feel sorry for the team you are supposed to break up.
Each team's star base raid is pretty much the same, with just a few small changes. At the front gate, the player will meet a character who has a unique connection to the boss of each area. This character will often want to fight, and if you beat them, they will tell you more about the history of each character.
Once the guard at the gate has been killed, the player can attack the base. The second part of the mission is to beat 30 Pokemon in each camp. Once that is done, the leader of Team Star will ride out on a Pokemon that can move on its own. After the player beats the leader, they find out why the leader joined Team Star, which is a sad story.
Pokemon Violet Titan Quests
This Path of Legends quest can be both rewarding and heartbreaking at the same time. When the quest is first given to the player, they don't know why they need to find these special herbs.
After completing the first one, the player is given a hint that makes it sound like there's something bad going on with the herbs. When we finish the second quest, we find out that this quest isn't about anything shady. Instead, it's about a trainer trying to heal his Pokemon even though other medicine and care haven't worked.
By beating the different titans, Arven can get an herb that he can use to make different kinds of sandwiches. Miradion and Koraidon get new skills from these sandwiches that make traveling much easier.
In addition to making it easier to travel, these interactions with the legendary Pokemon strengthen the bond between the player and the mysterious beast. In a way, this quest makes us think of how much we love our pets and how bad it hurts when they get hurt or sick.
All three quests are easy to use and make the player feel something. All three of these quests are relatable and tell a powerful story, whether it's about a love for a pet, a childhood trauma, or the desire to be the best. In some ways, this could be one of the best Pokemon stories ever.
Violet and Scarlet Glitch are Pokemon.
Gameplay/Graphics
We will combine the game and the graphics to save you time. If you've looked up Pokemon Scarlet and Violet, you've probably seen a number of glitches in the game. Most of these bugs can be funny and even add to the fun of the game, but some can be downright annoying.
The worst bugs happen when the player falls through the map or gets stuck in a building or object. You can quickly fix these problems by going to a nearby Pokemon Center, but if you haven't found any yet, you may have to go back a lot. Pokemon can sometimes even be found stuck in things.
Pokemon Scarlet and Violet introduce the Tera System, a new way to boost power. This system can be used in battle to change a Pokemon's type or improve its moves. This new feature can only be used on one Pokemon per battle and must be refilled at the Pokemon Center.
The Pokemon Centers are now more open, and the Pokemon Mart has been added to them. This saves space, but it also makes most of the game's cities feel useless. In fact, we spent the least time in cities and didn't go to classes because they weren't required.
At first, it can be hard to figure out how to move around in the game. They have to finish the titan battles to improve their bikes, which will make it easier for them to get around. The back jump bug does make it easier to reach places you shouldn't be able to, but it only works on certain surfaces. This makes it hard to get to different parts of the map.
The open world can be pretty amazing, but the slow frame rate is the biggest problem with the game. Objects that are not in the main focus will appear to be made of pixels and will move slowly. There will also be problems with the game's lighting, which will often switch between shadows and light.
This can be too much for people who have trouble seeing. Loading problems make it easy to lose your place on the map. If the game got an update that fixed a lot of the graphics and framerate problems, it could be one of the best Pokemon games to date.
The picnic system, easy-to-reach storage, and items that appear all over the map all make the game more fun to play. Trainers who want to take part in Tera raids but don't have online access will be given a raiding party by the game. Trainers can also see Pokemon around them when they are fighting other trainers or Pokemon.
Scarlet and Violet feel too easy in some ways. Trainers don't have to fight their Pokemon the normal way; instead, they can send them out to fight Pokemon in the area. This makes leveling up easy, but it's also easy to be too powerful, making each area feel weak.
Training for Pokemon Scarlet and Pokemon Violet
Music/Controls/Accessibility
The music in Pokemon Scarlet and Violet might be in the top five of all Pokemon games. The theme of each biome is different. Each gym leader has a different theme. When Gym Leader Tera's Pokemon evolves, it starts a new, fun, and energetic theme. In Area Zero, the music changes to sound more like something from Final Fantasy. The game would be better with voice acting, but not having it doesn't make it hard to play.
As with Pokemon Arceus, the controls for Pokemon Scarlet and Violet have a bit too much going on. Most of the menus for the directional pad buttons could be put in the start menu instead of having their own shortcut key.
When we were trying to run or change direction quickly, we often went to the wardrobe or the camera menu by accident. Still, the Pokeball button is a great addition.
Pokemon Scarlet and Violet let the player change the speed of the text, how Pokemon are managed, how moves are learned, nicknames, camera controls, auto-save, cutscenes, music, vibrations, and even the help function. If a player isn't sure what to do, they can easily check their phone or map, or go to the Pokemon Center.
Verdict
Before getting into Pokemon Scarlet and Violet, it was easy to tell from the reviews and videos that the game would be a failure. Most gamers need to realize that most of the early reviews focused on what was wrong with the game and barely mentioned what was good about it.
Yes, Pokemon Scarlet and Violet have a lot of graphic problems, which can put some people off. However, if you like Bethesda games in general, a few bugs and glitches won't put you off.
This generation's Pokemon games go into more depth about what it means to be a trainer and how to build relationships with rivals, enemies, and Pokemon. The game could use a scaled leveling system so that later in the game, certain areas don't feel too weak. The game has a lot of different Pokemon for the trainer to meet and fight, as well as different terrains and landscapes to explore.
Like Pokemon Arceus, this game might be what a lot of Pokemon fans have been asking for for years. If Nintendo can keep the things that work and fix the problems with the graphics, they could win Game of the Year in the near future. These two new games get a lot of things right, but there are a few things that could be better. If you like the Pokemon series, you should definitely read Pokemon Violet and Scarlet.
With a code from Nintendo, Scarlet and Violet were tested on a Nintendo Switch. Here, you can learn more about Niche Gamer's review and ethics policy. On the Nintendo Switch, you can now play Pokemon Scarlet and Violet.
