Rogue-like action-adventure game Cult of the Lamb was created by independent developer Massive Monster and released by Devolver Digital.
In Cult of the Lamb, players assume the character of a possessed lamb who was saved from oblivion by a threatening stranger. They are forced to repay their debt by accumulating a dedicated following in his honour. Establish your Cult in a nation full of fake prophets by travelling to exotic and enigmatic locales to assemble a dedicated group of forest Followers and disseminate your Word to emerge as the sole genuine Cult. Collect and use resources to create new structures, perform sinister rituals to appease the gods, and preach to your flock to strengthen their faith. To take their authority and establish your Cult's domination, you must defeat competing cult leaders, battle hordes of opponents, and explore a vast, randomly generated globe. To analyze and learn the secrets of four unknown areas, prepare your flock and go on a mission. Purge the unbelievers, raise awareness, and perform magical ceremonies on the way to becoming the great lamb god.

Game Review
The game kicks off with a rather unique task, guiding the lamb to the slaughter. It's a waddling, panicky affair, and as you'll soon discover, it's the last of its kind, with all other lambs having been sacrificed to appease four vile, bloodthirsty gods. The axe-man cometh, and our lamb is sent to the great beyond, where it encounters the fifth god, betrayed and imprisoned by the others, and seeking your help in exacting revenge on those who wronged it in a most unsavory manner. The game's dark humor is evident from the start, setting the tone for the rest of the adventure.
Upon resurrection by the fallen immortal, you're tasked with starting a cult in its honor and slaying each of the four gods to earn your freedom. From this point on, you'll divide your Time between managing the cult and battling your way to the gods you've sworn to strike. The game offers some minor exploration of the island you're on and a few minigames to partake in, but the heart of Cult of the Lamb lies in the adventurous spirit it instills in players.

Combat within the game is straightforward, however tricky. You have a weapon, and you'll be able to hit things. You'll be able to roll to dodge conjointly. As you progress, you'll unlock magic attacks. Also, the weapons get stronger or contain various extra properties like poison or remodelling the enemies you crush into ghosts that attack your foes. You create your means through dungeons, and you'll fight all manner of horrors before eventually reaching a boss, then you progress on to the consequent one.
While the combat is participating and a mite harder than we expect, the absence of selection within the weapons and the restricted choices on the market mean that it never looks to progress. Sure, the enemies fire additional projectiles, and your weapon system or hammer is stronger. However, you're doing precisely the same thing at hour fifteen as you're at hour one. It's colossal, by any suggestion. However, an additional touch selection wouldn't hurt.
Whether you're booming during a dungeon or otherwise, you meet a desoxyribonucleic acid, either means you'll be transported back to the cult later on. If you were killed in battle and resurrected, then some of your cult members are demoralized; otherwise, there's not very much social control over death. Whereas you're on a crusade, your cult members can do their best to keep everything ticking over; however, once you're back, you'll be able to take an additional hands-on approach.
You've got a plot of land to figure with, and you'll be able to ride it as you see work. Your cult starts small, and initially, you'll have to be compelled to mine some stone and chop some trees down to offer you the materials to create a couple of simple structures. Later, you'll be able to alter the method with mines and lumber yards. You'll want farmland, toilets, and an area for your cult to worship.
Later, you'll begin to unlock doctrines and rituals that assist you in forming your cult. Sometimes you'll have to be compelled to choose one direction over another. As an example, you'll introduce the concept of ceremonial burial to your flock, just in case any of them go, replete with gravestones for the survivors to mourn at and even funerals. Otherwise, you may tell them to induce a stew and eat their recently deceased friend. Waste wish not.
The management facet of the sport is simple, and it runs out of steam towards the end of the sport once you've built a large cult. It's never too demanding, and if any of your cult members get out of hand, you'll be able to have them killed perpetually. Speaking of the cult members, after you begin, you may have the temptation to form a friend that appears sort of a kitty and name it after a beloved pet, during a word: don't. We tend to create this error, not anticipating having to beat tiny Colin to death once a cruel god manipulated him into turning on the United States of America. It was grim.
