Kukoos: Lost Pets Game Review

Kukoos: Lost Pets is an independent game made by a small company in Brazil called PetitFabrik. At the moment, it is only available on Steam, but the official website says that it will soon be available on PlayStation, Xbox, and Nintendo.
The game Kukoos: Lost Pets takes place in a colorful ocean where there is only one island with a tree on it. The island is home to a group of fuzzy animals called Kukoos, who live with their pets.
The Kukoos are small, cute, and have enough fur to make them look like pets, which makes their relationship with their beasts a funny one. But the Kukoos and their pets are the most important parts of the game because they have to work together to win.
But a bad enemy, King Kootopus's giant robotic frog, has changed the pets into bad people. The Kukoos are tricked into thinking that if they buy a Kukoomand pet collar, their pets will grow big and become as fast as King Kootopus' frog. However, the collars are mind-controlling devices that put all of the pets under the control of the frog.
To save their pets and the island, players must go on a journey. Inside the island's tree are doors that lead to other worlds where the pets are being held captive by the frog. It is up to the player to rescue the pets and figure out what is going on.
In reality, Kukoos: Lost Pets has a simple plot that is more interesting to younger people. Even kids can understand how the elements work, which isn't always a bad thing if you just want to play casual games.
Still, players shouldn't think that every Easter egg will be deep or interesting. Most of the story is told at the start, and the rest of the game is mostly about how to play.
Like most other 3D platformers, Kukoos: Lost Pets is mostly about how you play the game, which gets more fun and harder as you go through the levels. Each world has a set number of "chapters" that must be finished in order before you can move on to the next one.
Each level has puzzles and challenges that need to be solved, but most of them are not hard to figure out. Still, some puzzles require quite a bit of critical thinking to solve, but nothing that a child couldn't figure out in the end.
Also, players can use either Kukoo K or Kukoo Kika (male or female).
As you beat levels and save pets from being mind-controlled, they can join you and use their powers to help free other pets. One, for example, gives players the ability to jump up and glide through the air, which they can't do without that pet. This makes the game more interesting and helps change the way you play, especially if you keep going back to levels you've already beaten.
The game is advertised as something that people of all ages can enjoy. This may be true to some extent, but most adults and even teenagers will probably find it childish.
Graphics and visuals are not the most important part of a video game, but they are important, and Kukoos: Lost Pets does a good job of capturing the spirit of the game through its art.
If I had played this game when I was younger, I would have been drawn in by the bright colors, detailed models, and funny dialogue that doesn't take itself too seriously. The game doesn't do anything new or different. Instead, it follows a classic cartoon plot, which works well for what it does.
Kukoos: Lost Pets runs smoothly at a locked 60 FPS, which is different from most modern AAA games that need graphics and performance modes. However, this was said by someone who played the game on a PC with an RTX 3090. Still, even older systems like the PlayStation 4 and Xbox One should have no trouble running the game.
Overall, Kukoos: Lost Pets is a fun video game for people who like arcade-style games. It doesn't try anything too different or out of the ordinary. Most people will probably finish it in between five and ten hours.
If you want a game with a deep story and lots of places to explore, this is not the one for you. But if you have a Steam Deck or Nintendo Switch, it could be fun to play while you're traveling or when you don't have much time.
